I just want to say once more that am very happy to have Larry as MY DRUMMER.
From the moment I experienced Andrew Carney, (almost 20 years ago) I knew that he was not only an extraordinary musician but would come to be "the one to hear." Andrew "sings", "speaks" and "cooks" with his horn...in few words...when he blows, he IS his horn!
Thank you, Andrew, for the many years of your kindness and support both musically and spiritually.
When you work with artists like Dr. Dre, EAZY-E, Ice cube, Cypress Hill, as well as Ralph Tresvant, and Michael Bolton, and all the while your passion is jazz…. you might think the jump from hip hop to smooth jazz would seem impossible. For Michael Sims, the transition was as natural as picking up his guitar. At times, the songs on
Room with a Groove
float like a feather on a breeze.
Sims playing is truly the work of a seasoned craftsman at the top of his game. Fluid and passionate, the songs are well written and the arrangements are strong without being overly complicated. Sims seems to have found the perfect balance between the composer/player and the listener. Enlisting the talents of Tim Heintz, George Shelby, and Gerald Albright to his collection of 13 tracks, Room with a Groove is a must for the guitar lover, as well as the collector of smooth and beautiful music
