Today is a big day, Yve has 3 shows with her band and a concert where Marty Harris will play so Yve can stand up and sing. Believe it or not she is even better when she can stand up and sing. Then Yve and Her guys will play for Ernestine Anderson. Ad to that Herb Jeffries and Hues Corp plus 20 more bands.

This will be a day of music you will never forget.

For the 8th year Yve Evans and Company will "kick off" the festival at noon by the pool.

“THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES,” A MUSICAL COMEDY TRIBUTE TO

“THE GOLDEN AGE OF RADIO” BY LOCAL PLAYRIGHT, GARY WALKER

La Quinta Playhouse will present the world premiere of “Thanks for the Memories” by local playwright Gary Walker the first two weekends of April, Thurs.-Sun., April 3-13, featuring an all-star cast, headed by Broadway star Donna Theodore and jazz legend Yve Evans. Co-starring are Patsy Garrett, Wayne Tibbetts, Shep Sanders, John Rayner and Don Martin.
The plot revolves around the final day and “the last broadcast” of a Portland, Oregon, radio station that refuses to change its format, remaining loyal to the Golden Age of Radio programming that challenged and informed our imaginations. A few of the now-famous alumni have returned for the sentimental sign-off.

The first act is the gathering of the cast and its comedic tension, and the second act is the actual “last broadcast,” with opportunities for audience participation and prizes, as in “the good old days” of radio.

Pianist Evans and the cast perform songs of Frank Loesser, Fats Waller, Harry Warren, Johnny Mercer, Jimmy McHugh, Arthur Schwarts, Sammy Cahn, Jule Styne, and Noel Coward.

“Thanks for the Memories” will be performed at 7:30 p.m., April 3-13. Tickets are $28. Box office:
